College Council 2019

(2020 Election dates - coming soon)

Are you interested in being a member of the Eaglehawk Secondary College Council?   Do you have valuable skills that can help shape the direction of the school ?

At the beginning of each school year we look for student and parent representatives for our school council.

Parents on school councils provide important viewpoints and have valuable skills that can help shape the direction of the school. Those parents who become active on a school council find their involvement satisfying in itself and may also find that their children feel a greater sense of belonging.    Student members of council benefit from support and encouragement in order to induct and support them to fulfill the duties of a school councilor.  Experience is not necessary, just a genuine interest in our school and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

School councils are groups who make decisions that set the direction of the school.  They:

  • help create and check the school's budget

  • contribute to the school strategic plan

  • make decisions on policies like investments, payment by parents, dress code.

If you are interested in becoming a member of our College Council please download a nomination form from our school website click here for parents or click here for students or collect a copy from our general office, complete and return to the school by Friday 10 February 2019.

An election is to be conducted for members of the School Council of Eaglehawk Secondary College. Nomination forms may be obtained from the school/ school website and must be lodged by 4.00 pm on 18/ 02/ 2019.

Following the closing of nominations a list of the nominations received will be posted at the school. The terms of office, membership categories and number of positions in each membership category open for election are as follows:

If the number of nominations is less than the number of vacancies, a notice to that effect and calling for further nominations will be posted in a prominent position at school.
