Our college provides a wide range of resources and supports to help your child navigate the numerous pathways available to them post-school.
ESC offers an extensive selection of resources, networking, work experience opportunities, and industry connections to support your child in exploring diverse Career pathways. We are proud of our strong partnerships with local organisations such as Bendigo TAFE, La Trobe University and leading employers in the region, which provide our students with valuable industry exposure, hands-on experiences, and future job opportunities. Career education is a key focus at our college, and we are committed to helping students make informed and confident decisions about their futures.
The Eaglehawk Careers team is available throughout the school day to assist students with career planning, job searches, and information on education pathways. Students are encouraged to check the Careers noticeboard, located in the library, and the Careers website which features updates on school-based apprenticeships, local job opportunities, work experience placements, and industry news and opportunities. All students have access to current and relevant information to support both their learning journey while at school and post-school endeavours.
Included in our Careers Curriculum are program partners such Geared for Careers who operate out of the library. They offer intensive one-on-one support for eligible students to remain engaged in school and transition to further education or employment.
Geared4Careers program officers work with participants to inspire, teach and support them through:

ESC has a dedicated Careers website which allows students to create and delve into their own personalised Career journeys. This is supported by advisory teachers, and students are given time to complete quizzes and explore their Career journeys during TA. Parents can also access this website and explore their child’s Career journey with them at home. Our ESC Careers website can be accessed via: Eaglehawk Secondary College
A major part of our Careers program is supporting Year 10 students to engage in Work Experience. It is often undertaken during short periods spent in an organisation to gain exposure to a certain role or sector. Placements are observational and voluntary. Work Experience offers students valuable insights into the work environment and employer expectations of a variety of different Careers, allowing your child to explore their interests. It encourages personal growth, enhances self-awareness, maturity, independence and confidence while motivating students to pursue further education and training to achieve their Career goals. Additionally, it helps students to understand the different educational pathways they need to pursue to be successful in their future Career endeavours. Students may also leverage their Work Experience rolls to gain future jobs or as part of applications to further education.
Parents are encouraged to reach out to ESC at any time to discuss any aspect of Careers Education with the Careers Coordinator.
Parents can also stay informed by reading our monthly Careers Newsletter, distributed through Compass to all year levels, and available on the ESC Careers website.
